Still loyal to NOD32. But it's good news since people don't bother installing antivirus software, at least Windows Defender comes enabled by default.

Kaspersky Internet Security here. Don't feel difference in performance when it's installed on the system or not.

It gives an extra layer of security when browsing on the web tbh..

I don't use any antivirus and I wish I could permanently disable defender's "real time protection"...

Do you have Windows Defender enabled? If so, you are more safe than if you didn't. Windows Defender is catching up with other paid antivirus softwares.

nah don't be silly lol. That prevents shit from getting into your PC in first place.

Yeah, as @iCeMan! said, it's possible - you can disable the service, although I don't recommend you do it. I feel confident in what I'm doing on the web too. It's just that I believe it's good to have some layer of protection nonetheless. Just in case, y'know.

Just btw., to avoid clashes - and, whatever - sometimes it's better to disable some of 'em, using the Local Group Policy Editor:

    (Start Menu) Run... gpedit.msc

^^ Especially with a SSD (too many read /writes otherwise. :))

I'm on Team "Nah" for additional AV. Windows Defender's been surprisingly solid lately. It's like the unsung hero of antivirus. I checked out that link—impressive stats! Here's to Defender holding its ground. By the way, if you decide to install windows 11, check out these deals: [advertising link removed] Good luck!
