Hello, just wanting some help with buying a new PC.

Here is the build I'm thinking of going for, I'm wanting to be able to run pretty much any game I please.

Just wanting to know if I'm being dumb (or unnecessary) with any of my choices and whether you'd change anything with the build.

    Cheers guys.

Mainly price, I wanted to keep it under 1k initially.

From research I've done I think the processor I've picked will do the job for most games.

I can always upgrade in a years time I guess.

For power supply i'd go at least 500W, your consumption on average load will probably reach about 460W like mine does at the moment for a similar build.

CPU cooler I don't know what the one you picked is worth (Intel Standard CPU Cooler ?), but i've been pretty happy with "Be Quiet! Pure Rock" if you're not sure what to pick for that.

RAM could have a higher Mhz rate, not sure of the prices but anything higher than 21XX Mhz is pretty neat. Of course not an obligation just thought i'd tell you since the prices aren't that different in general, just depends on what brand you pick.

Rest seems fine to me, just make sure the GPU does fit in the tower case you picked (it should in theory but check dimensions).

Pc specialist said all I would need was 450W? Are they wrong? I initially put 500W but it was telling me it was unnecessary and I only need 450W.

I have no idea is it going to cause issues with potential overheating If i stick with the one I have on there at the moment?

The website builds the PC for me so if it wouldn't fit surely the site would tell me before proceeding with the build?

I didn't directly test my wattage but there's a site that lets you calculate it.
    https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

Then again I have a different case, cpu and gpu so maybe yours use less. But i'd still be on the safe side personally. If you ever came to upgrade your pc you'd probably need to buy a new PSU. But don't take my word for it I'm not that tech savvy either.

I have no idea what that one is worth so I can't tell, my opinion test it and see if it does the job. If it doesn't, you'll know soon enough and the one i have is like 30€. I do know overheating can be an issue. Before installing my cooler when I wanted to test if my PC ran when I built it it wouldn't let me get past the bios because I had no cooler / cpu was overheating.

I don't know this website as I use a different French website, but if it checks for compatibility it should fit yeah.
Some websites don't so that's why I always check. But should be fine :p

That is a stock cooler and you have an unlocked cpu, scrap it for a better cpu cooler like the be quiet! Pure Rock. Will ithe stock cooler cause problems? Yes in the long run especially if the cpu is under intense load or you are over clocking. And if you don't plan on over clocking you can save money by getting the non-k variant. Also I would suggest getting another storage drive because your 1tb will probably fill before you know it.

Cheers for your help lads, here's what I'm gonna go for.
I think i would only need a 450W supply as the GPU doesn't actually use that much power but I've still upped it to 650W just to be safe (it also only cost me £10 More).

Also added a better CPU cooler.

I think the ryzen r5 1600 is the better choise for the processor nowadays because its already as good as the 7600 if not even better and as years go by the more cores will come in handy in gaming.

Not necessarily, what matters is the single core speed since most if not all game engines only utilise 4 cpu cores with a few even supporting hyperthreading. Think of it like this:
more cores = lower core clock speeds = poor single core performance = poor gaming performance

Where higher core counts really matter is in some professional softwares such as adobe premier pro and after effects, and I doubt he will be running multiple VM's or any sort of server.

Actually the Ryzen 5 1600x and i5-7600k perform roughly the same when it comes to gaming but in multi-threaded applications the Ryzen absolutely dominates it. Multi threading is becoming more conman in gaming also. Yeah when it comes to older software the i5 will win but honestly not by much and you don't buy new hardware to play old games.

Final update, got my new PC today, decided i was gonna go all out and changed a few of the specs!

Fair to say I'm amazed and it's by far the best PC I've ever used.
