So I recently got a new laptop, whenever I play with the charger in the laptop I get 300fps np, but when I remove the charger it looks like my FPS is maxed at 30 (probably to save battery life) but I was wondering if there was a way to turn that function off?

    cheers in advance

I assume it would be 'Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Power options' then select 'high performance' also during use on battery. When i still played on laptop this setting was also enabled but kept getting slightly lower fps then when the charger was plugged.

It's already on high performance tho, any other game runes smoothly when I unplug the charger, its just css that is making this fps cap

It still says 300, but my actual fps is 28-30 all the time, very odd

Maybe your laptop isn't heavy enough to run CS:S while the charger is unplugged. Would be only logical explanation why it is so low fps then I guess.

Maybe the graphics chip on your laptop needs better power source than batteries to maintain higher FPS.

It's a brand new gaming laptop tho, would imagine it to do so easly. I mean other games run perfectly smooth while the laptop is not charged

lol. Same laptop, if I remember correctly, I don't have fps problems with css, but with bigger games like, Mortal kombat or Arms 3, it just fucks up.

I always have the charger in when I play. My logic is there's no reason to plug it off and I just play with it. Also avoids that low battery warning that have interupted my game play a few times.

Too long, didn't read = Just play with the charger + I'll share my knowledge and try to help you when I get home.

Well I don't know that much about computers, but the guy at the store said that leaving your charger in while your battery is full is pretty bad for the laptop

Yeh don't leave your charger plugged in if your battery is fully charged. That's the quickest way to kill your battery.

If you use laptop as a desktop, just remove the battery and run it directly off mains.
