My mic is good on every server apart from ]HeLL[ servers! :(

    I don't know what the problem is but my mic is only bad on ]HeLL[ Clan servers. If you don't believe me join a different server with me or voice chat me on Steam. I've done a voice chat with Bennevis and he heard my voice clearly with no lag (which is what people say).

    I'm not sure whether it is something that I can deal with but I want to hear what your solutions may be.

    And if there is no solution I will be buying a new mic.

    All hell servers use speex codec because of non steam players. There are certain types of mic/headsets that do not function properly ingame, players can hear buzzing sound.

    I didn't find any fix for this. Most people just change headset and it fixes.

    I can try to make a list of the headsets that have this problem...

    Fair enough but I do use a good quality webcam mic (I know what you're thinking, 'That's the problem boobies u noob!' but it really is good)

    If there isn't a solution I'll just go and get a new mic.

    Also douchebags like Antixx (don't know why he's PA, he's been muting me since I joined the JB server) thinks that I've played on UKCS with him when that's complete bullshit.

    I have the same problem with my headset on HeLL servers...

    Always when I use my mic it sounds shit, so I can barely command/talk or people start complaining.

    Its quite essential for JB to have good mic's so isn't it possible to update the codec only for JB?

    btw my mic is Sonar snipa

    I think you mean to only remove the codec from JB.

    The newer codec is a lot more clear. I want it on hell servers but then the question will be about non steam. Personally, I use steam and I want a better mic quality on servers.

    Just got myself 3rd Cyber snipa and voice is crystal clear on all servers (tested) :p So I think its really nothing to do with headset nor server.

    You can buy a headphone with better mic because nearly all headset mics are cheap ones that produce this problem.

    Probably the ones that come on webcams are embedded in those headphones...

    My mic is quiet in HeLL, but not in ts, sound transmit volume on highest. Still, not as good as others.

    I am not sure if price reflects it but mic is quite a small thing and it depends if the manufacturer wants to cheap out on mic.

    I haven't seen anyone with logitech headphones with this problem.
    The cyber snipa doesn't have this problem. Champion not included.

    There is problem with plantronics I have to search up the models if you are looking for a list?

    I don't think the problem is with the codec because on older css and when before sv_use_steam_voice was introduced, speex was the only codec being used...

    Brandon is having this problem with Cyber snipa.

    Wouldn't it be better to tell people to spend £13.99 Normally / £3.99 during any sales.

    We barely have any non-steam players anyway. The community has grown and many non-steamers are now steam users, Maybe its time to upgrade.
