I built the shop at spawn with Vanguard and i was thinking if an admin is online they can go to the shop and server people with stuff they can pay with gold bar to buy like slime balls and pistons stuff thats hard to get that doesnt really ruin the survival part of the server (then we could build a HeLL Vault ) [big]let me know what you think !!!!!!!!![/big] it could be just left there at spawn for nothing though
That's pretty neat idea. using gold bars for currency. Or even gold nuggets? Another idea would be a civil engeneering project to extend VMX's monorail. I heared afew people say that would be good. Extending it to the other side of the spawn around the statues maybe for a server "tour"? Of course we would get quite afew people building the railway
I cant remember what the mod is called, but when you have certain items (like wheat, rail etc) you can sell these in a shop to get cash. You can then use the cash to buy stuff like gold/rail/latters/TNT etc. Each player has their own cash, ive seen it used on other servers, its pretty good. + you dont have to use it, its just there for ppl who prefer, for example, farming wheat to sell, to get money, to buy rails.
Cash Plugin = iConomy... You can set your own Currency in settings and players can open shop to sell/buy things and there are admin shops with higher prices. And ++++
Vercetti, You probably want stone bricks or for white white its wool. and the cash plugin is iconomy which you can also set intrest rates in (giving players cash over time). a plugin to go along with this would be the signshop plugin as it is compatible with iconomy and is really simple to use to sell your own stuff at your base. (If we get it i'm defo making a bread shop, so much weat that i can craft into bread for hungry travelers). I might just set it up anyways with water blocks and a divider. As an aside though I think we should also look at that map mod so we can see how the sever looks and can visit everyone creations.
I don't think this is such a brilliant idea, a few of us agreed to make a "community chest" the idea of the shop just ruins it.
Haha you need to be careful though, I've been on a server and found a bug in their economy, got 4.5 million dollars, on the server a diamond block only cost 5000 dollars to buy
I agree with louis. I would rather see this server as a friendly community whereas if someone say they need some cobble to build.. well then there is some nice soul out there that says if he gets some pork in return, (cause he's hungry) then it's all right. From my experience with iConomy. it splits the players. making every single item worth something, and the collaberation between people will be much harder to achieve.
Well I have an idea as a compromise. How about instead of a shop we just make a trading house with booths etc, with a guide on the wall for how to use it? for example here could be a plan for each trading booth: ++++_++++ +1=====0+ +1¬¬¬¬¬1+ +0=====1+ ++++_++++ + is a wall 0 is water block = is floor/walking area _ is door ¬ is glass wall 1 is the flowing water. The idea is the water is 1 below the floor and goes under the glss wall. Players place items in each side and swap. Ofcourse it would be near spawn but probably wouldn't be used
Yeah. i've seen that on other servers Phil. Tho, i would say going to pre-determined co-ordinates is more safer for both.
