Yeah i know but i also forgot to mention, XP used up more ram on my netbook than Windows 7..... But of course that wasn't with CS:S running
"XP uses more ram than Windows 7" is a news for me. EDIT: The minimum hardware requirements for Windows XP Professional include: Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended) At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended) At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive Keyboard and a Microsoft Mouse or some other compatible pointing device Video adapter and monitor with Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution Sound card Speakers or headphones
I know what the requirements are for Both Operating Systems are on paper, i am only telling you that on my netbook, XP eated more ram for some reason. It could have been programs or some other reason, I got my Netbook with XP installed and it was slow as fuck. Installed Windows 7 and it was much faster. Ram usage was around 400mb in Windows 7 on my netbook until Installing some programs. Ram usage on Windows 7 in my Desktop is around 1.4gb and around 4-5gb with Minecraft and Craftbukkit running lol Deejay has 1gb of ram right?, Windows 7 is easily able to run on that.
Thats what I'm trying to explain to everyone here... 1GB is minimum for Windows 7... what about for programs such as Steam and CSS? All of 1GB is for Win 7...
I know what your trying to explain, I went a little off topic. Steam is about 72mb and CSS is usually 800-900mb for me, sometimes more, so yes I know 1gb isn't enough, but is it even enough on XP even though XP uses much less ram on bare minimum than Windows 7. + Firefox and Chrome is around another 100-200mb Thats over a Gig without even including how much the Operating System uses itself.
Yea deejay has photoshop + firefox + chrome + virtualdj + steam + MS Word etc when he start css... Bet most of us close shitty programs before gaming or am the only one?
I always close other programs if I'm not using them, except for FF9. and spotify. Can't live without spotify.
