I am not going to spend 100 euro on any game tbh lol, if they would make standard edition with like few days early access I might pre-purchase .. Game is looking nice so far though Only thing I'm worried about is that I haven't seen any versus (4V4) gameplay, which I played the most on L4D..
New trailer, missed it first but steezus linked me, exciting to see the survivor passives! https://youtu.be/Bb1_n-qa4zg
https://www.reddit.com/r/Back4Blood...e_as/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Well... Seems like they are not adding the most liked part of L4D2, the campaign versus mode ... So sad, they are trying to get L4d players to buy the game and then they add a 'swarm' versus mode. Think I'm out, atleast until the game releases and gets reviews
I dont mind not having versus, much prefer coop gameplay anyway But still, im sure it might be something that gets added later..
I will probably still buy/play the game, I just think that campaign versus and modding support are such a key features in the old l4d series that I find it weird and actually shocking they do not add it. These two things together with normal coop are the ones that kept l4d2 alive. The reason for me to be doubtful about adding it later is because it requires so much more resources to design the campaign maps around 2 teams to be played in versus mode rather than for 1 human team and bots and if its not there at launch I have serious doubts it will be there at a later time. Still looking forward to the game but I'm less hyped
https://www.gamesradar.com/back-4-blood-wont-have-an-offline-mode-at-launch/ More bad news, Back 4 Blood won't have an offline mode (at launch). This doesn't HAVE to be a big problem, but if they do not add an offline feature before the publisher stops support, the services will die and the game is dead. Evolve, Turtle rock's previous game lasted 3 years before it was shut down.
What offline mode means is you need an internet connection to play singleplayer/mulitplayer/start the game even, not specifically hosting a local game. This means if a publisher decides stop to support the game it will not be playable anymore, which I think is bad.
Its the same for any online only game though isnt it? surely publisher has the right to shut a game down if they see fit? --- Double Post Merged, Jun 21, 2021, Original Post Date: Jun 21, 2021 --- It is still early to speculate stuff, when they say a feature will be added "later", it means the game is still a baby imo.
Its mainly that I don't like the idea of a game with single player, someday dying from servers shutting down.. but ye you are right let's see if they add it later
