MG Respawn Tip

I was just playing on ]HeLL[s MG server and I was talking with Andrew and we thought it would be a good idea to have a bind setup so that when we die we can press a Key and it will switch us to spectate and then switch us to the team that we are suppose to be on so that it's pretty much like an insta-respawn type thing, I searched online for around 20 minutes and couldn't find what we were talking about so I decided to try make the bind myself and I succeeded. This bind can be useful for many players I guess if you are trying to beat the AFK spawn kill.

bind <key> "spectate; jointeam"

That is the bind so for example the bind that I have set for my keyboard is, bind ins "spectate; jointeam"
Meaning so when i press ins on my keyboard when i'm Dead / Alive in game, I will switch to spectate and then switch to the team that the map insists we be and it respawns. obviously if the timer of spawn kill has run out then you will just die upon spawning.

No we do not. There are many maps where respawning would defeat its purpose, ski mountain for example. This is a great tool for course maps.

 

There is so much to learn on EVERY mg map, even Ski.

 

You learn by trial and error or by watching others, that has always been the way. There is no reason to deviate from tradition just to make things a little more convenient. But let us put that aside. How would you make this plugin only available to course maps and not multigames or maps like ski mountain where the objective is to kill one another? I am not an expert on plugin-making but I doubt it is possible.

 

You don't, you just allow respawn on all mg maps

 

The respawn plugin allows admins to respawn people sebastian, so in certain maps admins can respawn people that cant play

 

That would be good but as @Sebastian said it would defeat the purpose of some maps and that’s why I made the bind for things such as course maps, it would be possible to use this bind for other maps too possibly but the main purpose of the bind is to respawn on course maps such as,mg_school_coursee, mg_sohigh etc

 

Nah just meant that admins should be able to respawn people on mg, seems stupid they cant atm

 

True, @Sarpao When is it actually needed for admins to use that tho? mostly on GumObstacle when the map has been on for hours, ppl go spec and leave. That's more the players fault for being dead when they leave. Most maps won't require admins assistance

 

If you leave the mg server while you are dead and rejoin, you are not able to respawn even if the spawn killer is not active yet. Other players are able to respawn while you are not able to. In this instance it would be nice to be able to call an admin to respawn you instead of making everyone slay. Some maps need preparation for a speedrun and when the preparation is done no one wants to re-do it because of 1 player.
