Made a new pc because of moving. Here are the PC parts that I building. Any input/recommendation etc will be appreciated. The build must be under £900/1300CAD/9000nok. I think I got some good hardware for a small price. Most of the items on this list I got for much cheaper because of deals and discount on newegg.ca https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/zb8vzY Monitor and Peripherals included^^
Impressive build mate, although i don't really know about the AMD cpu since all the people i know with one of them has had a bad experience with it (that's why its much cheaper than Intel core i5-8600k : https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-2600X-vs-Intel-i5-8600K/3235vs3100) this video compares the 2600x with the 1800x 1600x and 8700k
The Rtx2060 is newer* consumes less power, heats less , but the gtx1080 is still faster , who cares about the bill x)
I love to discuss these things, and it may seem like I don't like your guys' suggestions, but I love talking about PC parts. So even if you have some weird input or anything. just say it xd Its cost in average $200 more for 1080 GPU which only gives some extra performance. Not worth IMO https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2060-6GB-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4034vs3603 --- Double Post Merged, Aug 5, 2019, Original Post Date: Aug 5, 2019 --- As you can see. The value and performance you get from AMD are good. The old AMD CPU has had its problems and that's why Intel dominated the CPU market, however, now the AMD ryzen series is good and gives much more value for its specs then Intel. i5-8600k is faster with 89% score and 2600x is 79%. I am willing to lose 10% performance for the $177 savings.
Curious as to if there's any reason in particular for a micro ATX cpu in an ATX case? Would you not go for a smaller case or a bigger cpu? Not critism just curious on the thought process Also interesting video I just watched on amd and ram speed comparisons Edit: Motherboard not cpu
Chose the micro ATX because it was the cheapest motherboard on sale. I picked the ATX case cuz it looks hella fine and very nice. Spoiler: 65 CAD/£44 is HeLL of a deal for a motherboard
..................... You might want to buy an RTX 2060 SUPER over the RTX 2060. It performs like the old RTX 2070 It costs $70 more though - https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=139062 (also it's pointless upgrading to a normal RTX 2060 if you have a GTX 1070) And that ram isn't optimised for AMD, it was designed to work with intel boards/cpu. you need to google ram for Ryzen. Also that keyboard seems a bit overkill & the motherboard looks too cheap, That motherboard has such a small VRM heatsink, which means it will overheat the CPU & the VRM quicker than a more expensive motherboard would, and you wont get as good of a performance out of your CPU. It will also limit any overclocking, if you were planning on doing so. You should get something like this instead for $129.99 - https://www.amazon.ca/ProSeries-Ryz...N+AC&qid=1565259798&s=electronics&sr=1-8&th=1 ..................... Corsair make some good keyboards which aren't at Razers' prices. This for $158.00 - https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-Gamin...ming Keyboard&qid=1565264067&s=gateway&sr=8-4 I'm thinking of getting this one for myself for $99.99 - https://www.newegg.ca/black-corsair-k63-cherry-mx-red/p/N82E16823816089 Or this from HyperX for £149.99 - https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16823455013 (these keyboards have Cherry MX Red keyswitches, which are different from the green Razer clicky keyswitches you linked) check this if you don't know about Cherry MX switches - https://www.keyboardco.com/blog/index.php/2012/12/an-introduction-to-cherry-mx-mechanical-switches/ .....................
I Keyboards and mouse and headset is bought from Norway already. However the PC. MB: I already bought the Motherboard and Ram because it was on sale. I agree that the motherboard is cheap and not that well for the CPU. I got a CPU cooler though. Should that not help with the heat problem? RAM: I did not see that the ram was OPTIMIZED for Intel. Im returning the Ram for a AMD ram with 16gb instead of 8gb and rgb http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_1326&item_id=138357 GPU: I am not sure if I should return 2060($445) and get the 2060 SUPER($530) or 2070($569) https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=136944 https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=139062
Pretty sure "optimised for X" don't mean shit. That RAM would've worked fine on your AMD system. There is no such thing as AMD RAM or Intel RAM. Just check your motherboard specs and get a compatible ram. Don't pay extra because it says optimised for X marketing bullshit.
I have a solid plan now. I will think about it and make up my mind by the end of this week. Thanks for the input everyone! Will update you guys with my final decision and maybe a PC build gallery
Any particular reason you go for a 1st gen Ryzen? You could go for the new 3600, it's only slightly more expensive. It also comes with a cooler. Edit: The 2600X also comes with a cooler, why do you want to use a different one?
If you skip to 9.40 he talks about ram compatibility . how the memory controller is different for amd / intel also just a few days ago i saw a youtuber who had just finished a build (using intel ram on ryzen), and powered on his PC & it crashed like 5 times before it would even boot. when he installed ryzen optimized ram after that, it worked just fine lastly that ram wasnt on the QVL for that motherboard or ram so wan't even officially supported @Jan - when you buy the ram, check to see if it's on this list https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.asp#MemoryPR , and one last last thing, it looks like hyperx mostly use "hynix" chips for their ram or even worse "micron", the only hyperx that use "samsung b die" are a few of the 3600mhz ram
@Jan Take advice from this forum with caution. Some users might not be familiar with PC building or maybe inexperienced. Do your own research as well before taking any advice, including mine.
Got the 2600x 2nd Gen Ryzen because it was on sale for 199CAD. Bought the CM cooler because everyone that I know always tells me that the included coolers are not that good. Thanks about the input Trustme. I will check this out.
I have never heard anything bad about the coolers included with the Ryzen processors, got my 1500X two years ago and the cooler still works perfectly fine and is barely audible.
