The suggestion is that the Jailbreak server has a requirement for you to have played on the server for a certain amount of time before you can join CT. This means that if you are below the minimum play-time requirement, you cannot join CT. In other words, this would be blocked by the server, with a message like "you must have at least X minutes as an alive T on the server in order to play as CT".

This could reduce or remove a number of issues. 90% of new players that join CT break rules and have to be swapped or CTBanned. The suggestion could solve this problem. We already have the rule "If you don't know the game or are new, you must join T!". This rule supports the suggestion.

What if people join from other JB communities and want to join CT, whether they'd be helping or commanding; when they know the core functions and rule-sets of being a CT as well as the server rules?

The rules on most other JB servers are very different to the rules on HeLL. In my experience it's a rare if not non-existent occurrence that a non-HeLL Jailbreak player comes to the server for the first time and is aware of / able to follow all the rules correctly.

However you could have a low minimum requirement, or ability for admins to remove blocks. These could help to make it fairer on players who might know some of the rules but are new to the server.

There are actually some people who are not retarded and can easily play CT after a few maps with no problems and not cause issues. Think it would be unfair on them

Well there you have a solution: admins still can swap people, they can have an eye on him for one map and then swap him to CT, if he doesnt understand rules swap him back and let him play off his minutes

What if there isn’t an admin?

I don’t like this restriction because I know players from other communities who join can command just as well as our regulars.

I agree with this and this is essentially why I made the suggestion and what it is for. Once a player has played a few maps they would surpass the minimum requirement and be able to join CT. The minimum requirement could be as low as 30 minutes spent alive, which for most players that pick up the rules quickly is maximum 2 maps.

Having it as "spent alive" is also better because new players that don't pick up the server rules will just die quickly and keep doing so until they learn. Once they do learn they'll stay alive for longer and be able to join CT sooner.

I know these players too. They are good to have as CTs, but in my experience they don't get to this level on the server from the moment of joining. It takes them time, and often making a lot of mistakes, before they are able to play within the rules. The requirement would allow them to pick up on the differences in rules between their old communites and HeLL, without risking getting CTBanned, which does happen in these scenarios.

Simple: He has to wait patiently.

As Jingle said: IMO 2 maps are enough that the player knows the rules and is able to play as a CT

To be fair, the issue is not that simple. On one hand you have people from other JB servers who know how to command, or our own regulars with other account. They are perfectly fit for CT but would not be able to play.
On the other hand you have new players who may not learn the rules because either there are not enough players or there are rulebreakers/abusers. They would learn the wrong things and subsequently break rules themself. And of course then there are the special people who dont understand CT even after 200 maps.

So either way you have some downside.

The upsides of this suggestion outweigh the downsides in my opinion. How many players do we CTBan every week pretty much just for being new? We're essentially already enforcing this system, but this is far from the best way to do it.

I don't think the idea that new players are learning from rule breakers is really a thing. People point out if a player breaks rules and they're generally shunned and told to correct themselves.

For the people that don't undersatnd CT after 200 maps, I know what you mean. This is what the CTBan function is for. The point of the suggestion is just to weed out the many new players that break rules due to being new.

Regulars with alt accounts.. Not sure about that one. The suggestion I made for admins to be able to remove blocks could solve that. Or as Hans suggests admins could just swap the player. You could say this increases admin workload, but overall in the new system workload would be less I think.

@TrustMe You mind linking the thread/threads you're talking about? This is a bit underhand and not really constructive.

You guys are saying people from other servers who know the rules already will be blocked by this, but what's the percentage of them related to the quantity of new people who join CT just to make disasters? MAYBE around 1/3.

If the minimum required time isn't something huge, but more something like 30-60 min then I see no problem with it. As Jingles already said, Hell server has different rules from other jailbreaks, that'll allow even people who already know what JB is to learn the server's own rules.

Also trustme is talking about this:

Well, people change opinion in 4 damn years dont they?

Cheers, I couldn't find this with the search function and I must have missed it in the Similar Threads suggestions.

It goes without saying that this has little bearing on whether this thread is appropriate or not now considering that thread is 4 years old and clearly the responses here show that people want to talk about this now.

30 minutes would be ideal on the server cuz I hate the 1 hour suggestion as some people might not have enough time to waste and so only go on for a few minutes,I have been on a csgo jb server which has this sort of block, but its for 1 hour, making the game mode very boring,so i would approve this block if it were only 30 minutes long or less

So in my experience when playing on alternate JB servers with a CT playtime restriction is it’s just annoying.

I know how to command right although I might not know their rules off by heart I’ll learn through trial and error. I don’t think is a bad thing, as long as the admins deal with it correctly in the sense of not CTbanning these players just giving them guidance.

This has been suggested many times previous but we’ve said no every time and I personally stick to this decision as I think it’s best.

This gets suggested all the time. Some people who don't know how to play could join and play for an hour but still not understand the rules then swap to CT. Sometimes there is also no commander and having a restriction will just make this happen even more.
