Hey to who anyone who's bothered to read this,

I'm looking to do do a full setup upgrade as what I'm gaming on is pretty shitty, Currently gaming with this laptop and mouse (mouse also has a broken scroll wheel)

Looking to get a new laptop, monitor, mouse, and possibly keyboard.

Reason I'm going for a laptop over a desktop is I don't have the space for a desktop, I've a very small desk as can be seen here, unless someone knows of a small build or alternative.

I have a budget of no more than €1260. If possible I'd like to keep it below that but that's the most I can spend.

    Currently I'm looking at this:
    Laptop: Dell Inspiron 15 7566 €1099 (Intel Core i7-6700HQ 3.5GHz, 16GB Single Channel DDR4 2400MHz, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5, 128GB SSD + 1TB 5400 rpm HDD)
    Mouse: STEELSERIES Rival 100 €30
Monitor: AOC 23 inch IPS Monitor, Display Port, 2 x HDMI, VGA, MHL, Speakers, Vesa I2369VM €133
Keyboard: no clue what to get here..

What I've mentioned above comes to a total of €1259 leaving no money for a keyboard but i can always get one at a later stage or if other people have better or cheaper suggestions i might be able to squeeze it in somewhere,
anyway thanks for reading and any suggestions on what to do are welcome :)

It's shame you can't fit a desktop PC as you get so much more for the money.

I could if I found one with an appropriate build/size, I've a pile of notes under my desk that I could move and possible get a desktop in there, only disadvantage is it's anchored there and I cannot game anywhere else or take my desktop to college like I do my laptop (only rarely tho)

IF you are going for a laptop, for gaming I would go for one of the MSI builds, a little pricier but last longer.

Otherwise I would just go for a desktop build. A lot more for your money and easier to upgrade when it comes to your components getting outdated. If space is an issue go for a Mini/micro ATX case (although make sure all components you want will fit in this!

If you want, you can put your desktop on the floor, next to the desk? You don't have to put it on the desk...

You can build a nice desktop for your budget you know...

This way you get to keep your current laptop for college and the one anchored in your room for serious gaming.

I don't have the space in my room for a bigger desk so it won't be changed anytime soon

A small form factor PC for £776.42 (€862.13)
    ---
Its a small pc so you can fit it under your desk, it has and SSD to boot-up fast (system + games) and HDD for mass storage. Powerful graphics card for its price and and soild CPU. As its €862.13 it leaves rest of your budget for a soild Monitor, and Peripherals (mouse, keybord, ect...) with this set up you could prob run new battlefield 1 at 60 fps on mid settings.

Thanks @JonSnow for the suggestion, after seeing that think I'll starting having a bit of a look around,
I had a look at the build you suggested and switched out a couple things

Anyone have any other suggestions or am I missing something else I'll need?

you could swap the GTX 1060 for a 1070 if you wanted to, but that depends on what games you want to play and what resolution.

@Myles most likely going to be gaming at 1080p, doubt I'll be getting a 4k monitor
The games ill be playing to start with will probably be overwatch and csgo.
Price depending I could consider a GTX 1070.

Amazon currently got some sales going so if I can get a solid build together soon I'm going to try order it!

you could go for a modular (or semi-modular) PSU which means less clutter, which = more air flow, less stuff for dust to collect on & will look nicer with that see through case

I might depending on its size/ advantages over the current build.
size is a big factor in this build and trying to keep it small is ideal for me.
sounds like a better option, trying to have a look but tbh im not really sure whats good or not..

was looking back at this post and only saw that question there mark, my bad :tmi: total cost of the build was €1208.95 for parts and then €50 odd for shipping, but that varies from place to place.
