Better Than Wolves mod

Hello guys,


At the moment I'm playing a minecraft mod called better than wolves with a few friends.
It's really hard to survive on it.. Has anyone played it before? If you have, do you have any tips to survive or get a good way of food? We've lasted about 7 days and all the food in the area has gone, but the area we have is really good, (built a hole into a ravine, etc.
We have Armour etc, but we're desperate for food.
Any idea?

 

Make your own food?

Kill zombies for rotten flesh? Not sure myself as I haven't played the mod.

 

It's not that simple.
You can't just make your own food, you need the resources. For example, you cant breed cows without wheat, you need wheat to get them to follow you.
You cant grow wheat on btw, you need to find it, in mob rooms etc.
Zombie Flesh will just kill you
I go out everyday for food off animals, but mobs kill the animals too.

 

Do apples fall of tree?
Just take an axe and cut down as many trees in a big area as you can.
It means you're fine for wood for a while, and once the leaves break down, apples should fall with them.
I think this will only work on Oak.
Not sure I haven't played since 1.2.5

Get some pigs/cows into a safe area all fenced off in your house? Not sure if you can breed.. but you can give it a go, that's what I always did with Steviee in Minecraft

 

We cant get wheat, it's almost impossible.
