When I download this file on the site: Minecraft.exe (270 KB) and when I could open it, everything went perfectly. But when I logged in this message appears: Bad video card drivers! ----------------------- Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode. This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers. --- BEGIN ERROR REPORT 7fe0271 -------- Generated 11/05/12 22:29 Minecraft: Minecraft 1.2.5 OS: Windows 7 (x86) version 6.1 Java: 1.6.0_31, Sun Microsystems Inc. Would like to play with you but first I'll need some help :renvy:
What video drivers do you use? NVIDIA? Anyways. Go to the homepage of the video driver you have, and download the latest version corresponding to the Video Card you have
I am really shit with computers, I just play games. Don't even know which computer I have. So if you show me how to upgrade it or how to know what kind of video driver I have, would it be really helpful!
do this to find your graphics card: start -> run -> then type on that box dxdiag and run that, switch to the display tab and it should show your display adapter (gpu)
Thank you for help but I'll ask you first if I downloaded the correct one. The underlined words are the things I can download. Which one should I download?
Im assuming you have windows? Then use the one that is for windows lol. Also, if you cant be arsed using run commands to find what hardware and graphic card u have, go to this website and choose any game (it dosnt matter, as we only want to know what stuff your pc has) Then clickthe "CanYouRUNIt?" and let the thing load, and it will show all the specs for your PC, along with a handy button that says "get the latest drivers..." DONT GO TO THIS LINK, ITS A TRAP (not really, it just tries to get u to download shitty freeware ). Go to your video card info, and type that into google and u should be able to find the websiute with the uptodate drvers. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com
Yes, I have windows. So it is the 270KB I have to download? Not the multiplayer server download? I'll go to the site when I'm back at my own computer. I'll let you know when I did it.
This has nothing to do with your minecraft.exe so forget about those downloads... Now lets break the replies down for you. 1.) First. Go to this website: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx 2.) Click select from dropdown. Select the first game. Now it should look like this Now Click the "Can you RUN it?" 3.) After some wait, a result page will show up. Look down until you see something like this: Now take note of what you have marked in yellow. My Driver is GeForce GT 420. You take mark of yours. 4.) Now simply go to Google.com and type in the name of your Driver. Click the top link (it would usually be the top link) Navigate to a banner called somewhat along the lines of "Drivers & Downloads" and select to download the latest driver. Everything should go smoothly from here
The thing is, canirunit isn't always accurate. There's no GT420 with 4GB, only 512MB/1GB. Once I tested it out, it said my processor had 21Ghz.
