Admin AFK

Can usual players do something if admin goes on spectator/AFK, and Freekiller/ rulebreaker join server? We cant votectban/voteban him, because admin on server and he is afk.

 

Your best bet is to contact an admin of an equal or higher status so they can come to the server and kick the admin for you. So if it's a PayAdmin ask another PA or SU/Clan Member. While the admin is there they might even be able to help with the rule breaker. You can add admins on steam or use Shoutbox.

If it happens repeatedly with the same admin report it via DM to a clan member.

idk how difficult this would be to implement but u could do an afk test in sourcemod either by checking for no input for a certain amount of time or by the admin not picking a team when joining a new map and staying in spectator, and then allow the use of voteban/votekick/votectban (ofc not allowing the use of them against the admin himself)

 

Some of the active ZE servers have AFK checks, its normally like 5 over the course of a couple minutes. Then it auto kicks, but any movement of mouse, chat, etc will count towards not being AFK.

Is it possible to get that plugin?

 

Don't think an auto-kick for payadmins would be good since sometimes an admin is watching/recording a player who's cheating etc, if a payadmin really bothers you when they AFK you should just tell them whenever you see them again, or message a higher admin. (Discord/shoutbox/steam, there's always someone online)

Nevertheless, payminds should be aware of their responsibilities, a payadmin doesn't HAVE to use their payadmin, but when they go AFK they disable any moderation unless another admin joins, so payadmins need be aware of themselves when they go AFK, and be aware of the possible resulting events. (rulebreakers doing whatever they want.)
But in that case, you can still record evidence and report it on forums if something serious happened.

Is there a need for voteban to be disabled when an admin is connected?

If the feature is abused the admin should be able to cancel the vote and punish as appropriate. This would also allow players to initiate a player vote for something that an admin missed or if they're afk.

As a side note - many players use voteban to test if an admin is on the server, and some use this to see if they can get away with being cheeky.
