I have quite literally grown up playing half life, it was one of the first games my dad had ever let me play and that game was something we both had in common. We had already had plans to buy a VR headset together but when this was announced it was definitely decided. So definitely
I need to upgrade my computer first before getting VR. I wasn’t going to bother with a PC upgrade but I might just do it so I can play HL:A cuz I agree, the trailer looked amazing
You don't have VR? I remember you having the Nitendo Switch but not the VR for others games like horror games, adventure games, etc...? Or am I wrong? ANYWAY WAZ STOP PLAYING ON THE SWITCH! VR IS MUCH BETTER
yea I got the Nintendo switch and it’s great fun for family games and stuff. What VR headset do you have?
I don't have VR now being busy with, uni and work etc. But I'm gonna get it next week hopefully if I got the time for it atleast. But I'll get it 100% before 2020... When will you get it?
not sure yet, maybe after Christmas. I got money saved up but can save up more with Christmas money. I’ll probably get the Index although I’m not sure if it’s worth investing so much?
@Wazblaz Index is great and all but I would go with like used vive pro or something. 1,1k is bit too much even for Index. I got mine just because I happened to have more than enough skins to pay it, definately wouldnt have bought it if was out from my paycheck
I am really on the fence about it Pros: Finally a new Half-Life game First VR version of Half-Life It is a unique concept Cons: Being VR it removes an important value from the series It is a cash grab to get people to buy their VR products It won't be nowhere near as good as the previous games as it is hard to top them.
I consider regular games and VR games to be very different. Obviously, VR isn't conventional and I believe that this is straying away from the Half-Life Series one step too far. The gameplay just isn't the same thing in my opinion. It also limits who can play the game which is such a shame considering so many people have waited almost 20 years for this day.
Very true, but I think Valve sees VR as the next step in the gaming industry which is why they went this direction. The Index isn’t made to be affordable, it was made to show the industry what VR technology can offer right now- HL:A Strengthens their showcase in providing a high quality game to emphasise that
That is quite an smart way to look at it. I guess Valve have always been about innovation and unique concepts with their Half-Life series, and I assume this is how they believe they can top HL2
If we don’t get to play it ourself a straight away, we’ll have to wait and see what the critics say about it meeting expectations! Fingers crossed it does, because if it doesn’t I don’t think we’ll ever see another Half Life game again out of fear of them not being able to top it off
Yeah, I am sort of waiting for a decent review. From what I have heard so far, not many people are holding their hopes too high for a good positive experience.
