    I use a USB cable to connect the amp to the computer and Reaper for recording, not the best choice and a bit of messy for timing the guitar with the backing track but it's free so...

    Yes, I try to record from the first improvisation try.
    Of course I listen to the backing track twice or so before trying to record an improvisation.
