    I understand the first part, we're all human, not robots, and I don't blame you.
    I'm just frustrated that we couldn't voteban him afterwards and you couldn't ban without proof of witness.

    And this is an actual recurring problem I'm addressing here, which is not being able to !vote_ while admins are online but either AFK or busy with something else.

    On a side note he did get yelled down, but he slayed when he realized that you were admin,
    said "Oh my god, Hans got admin now? Fuck this i'm out", slayed and left.
    Pretty disrespectful if you think about it. But anyway this thread's not the place for that debate.

    -Hatred towards other nationalities needs to stop. I saw and heard an American guy try to get into the server today and actually command, and he sounded quite fun even though he was a tad trigger happy (nothing a warning can't help). But immediately the troll army started insulting him, telling him to "fuck off the server" and "go back to American servers" and such over the mic, even preventing him from wardening and talking over him. I don't see why this wasn't punished at the time.

    -Earlier today, and with proof, I heard a warden say "As long as I am warden, I am gonna make sure that you never get LR". He was laughing but the guy he targeted sounded quite pissed in chat.

    That is me just kidding with Joceninja you can see his reply up there and he don't sound pissed like you said
    For me when I command I always try to be fair and do fun games

    No matter his actions, it doesn't excuse acting or being outright racist towards him and keeping him from commanding at all if he's actually trying.
    Worst case scenario, you report him properly and he'll be dealt with. (Which here is what happened)

    I've got friends all around the world from many different nationalities, that I personally met and know,
    and any racism kind of ticks my ears off.

    What you're saying brings you to my other point, just because someone didn't know the rules and did something bad before,
    even when they try to actually get to join in the fun and repent from their actions they get shit on big time and left no chance at all.

    And I don't say this innocently. The reason I posted all this is because I realized I became toxic towards someone who had barely joined the server.
    Everyone was insulting him for not knowing the rules, and so did I because he had mass freekilled and so I insulted his ignorance.
    But he then asked in chat for the rules or a link to them, and while everyone was still rightfully pissed off trying to get him off the server,
    I linked him the rules and he actually went there.
    Now I don't know if he still plays or not, but I realized there's no point in battling ignorance or stupidity with rage.

    Toxicity brings more toxicity and someone who just joins and gets insulted right away because of who he is, is bound to do something bad.
    I'm not defending them or their actions, I'm just stating the obvious, which we tend to forget.

    For the second part, i'm pretty sure I saw someone in chat complaining so I might've confused who he was referring to.
    But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
    I often see people freekilling their friend for shits and giggles, and I guess that's fine,
    but I also see people using excuses to kill people they don't like, and that is not okay.

    Hope this cleared some things up.

    I agree with you in most of these points I just want to clear why I was telling him to unwarden and I'm not racist or anything and never been racist towerds
    anyone but you clearly did not see the demo because he know the rules but he choose to break them for his fun so excuse me if I went to harsh on him but
    he ruined my fun and everyone else who was on the server

    Hello. I wondered if it was logical to change the !lr plugin for guntoss? The improvement I am looking for is to clarify the winner more. For example, the plugin will point out the winner by typing their name in chat or in the mini square box with the distance of the toss. I don't want the distance from both players to disappear.
    Not sure if this was suggested before.

    @Jan is broken as hell. It starts the distance from when you drop the gun. Also you can achieve easy 2k just by dropping gun on your own feet. On some maps you can clip the gun in map and get well over 20k.

    Surely not. It already detects who throws the gun and give them a distance so if the metre was fixed then I don’t see it being too difficult to detect the highest value and display their name next to it

    I don't think so, to be honest. You already have the distance from both players measured. You could do an if statement with distance A and B.

    Yeah but i think thats why the meter is broken in the first place, in gun toss the meter detects when they gun falls after it leaves the player but if u go by gun you need to calculate when the gun stops moving even after it hits the ground and i doubt thats even possible

    Gun distance is measured from player's last jump position (before gun is dropped) to the last recorded gun position (after it's been dropped).

    Here's how last jump positions are retrieved. That's inside a player_jump event callback.

    What this means is that if players never jump after they select this LR, their last jump positions would remain as being auto initialised to zero (which would be the centre of the map /global world space/) This is really what makes the super high distances appear.

    As soon as one of the players drop their gun, a timer that fires every 0.1 secs repeatedly is started which handles the logic of the game. This is where guns' last positions are calculated.

    As you can see, the developers decided to consider the gun as being stationary if the difference between the last recorded position and the current one is less than 3.

    Once this completes, beams are created from where players dropped their guns to wherever the guns' last positions turned out:

    So yeah, as I said, the main reason why you see super high distances is because players either
    • never jumped after selecting the LR
    • or they didn't jump when throwing the gun (could be using a previously recorded jump position and therefore printing an inaccurate result).
    There's another thing I'd like to mention. It's a little bit more advanced but needs saying as it's important. Hosties makes use of SetPackPosition which offsets the position in a datapack object. This is kinda frowned upon for reasons described by Fyren and asherkin:

    What this means is that If HeLL servers run the latest version of SM, this could potentially break the plugin, assuming the plugin hasn't been updated.

    Ok, that was it boys and girls. Hope I cleared up some misconceptions.
    As for the actual idea, as @Jan and @Wazblaz said, it's not terribly hard to add this feature. Only problem would be what @GeorgeLAD pointed out - different rules set by the T => partners would have to ignore what the hint box says.

    P.S.
    • I've sometimes seen the beams glitch out. No idea what the cause of that is. My guesses are:
    1. fRefreshRate
    2. The game engine / server / SM acting weird
    3. Something in the plugin I have no idea about that causes it
    • "On some maps you can clip the gun in map and get well over 20k." - @PASi. Could be related to the jump thing I've explained above. I've actually never tried clipping a gun. It really shouldn't change the origin of it, though. If it does, then it's something related to how the engine handles physics.

    can we add rifles and smgs to s4s as there are no lrs with rifles or smgs cause pistols are boring after a while ya know

    My radiocommands have no sound/voice. I first noticed last evening I think. Whenever I do things like "Enemy spotted." or so it shows in the chat but makes no voice. Same is for winning messages, where there is no audio. I dont know if its because of sv_pure or what, but it works in local games (german voice) and on HeLL GG (english voice). Could you please look whats causing this?

    I think an AFK kicker addon should be added on JB. Whenever I join there's always about 5-8 spectators and 2-3 afk players on either team. It can get annoying when you want to voteban or votectban a cheater/mass freekiller but there's an afk admin. It's also kinda disappointing to join thinking, say 30 people are actively playing, to then realise the actual player number is about two thirds.

    I believe there was an AFK kicker ( or at least force AFK players to spec) years ago but the admins were immune from it. I might be completely wrong or I'm just thinking about the MG server.

    If I recall correctly, the main counter argument was that "What if someone is recording a demo?". I think it is possible for the addon to check if a player is using their mouse/keyboard and make the decision whether to kick them or not.

    I'd like to suggest creating a possible rule against cell door spamming. HeLL is the only JB server that I've played on where nearly every round someone tries to spam the cell door button either delaying the round or killing a handful of Ts trying to exit their cells, or both. It may seem harmless at first, but when it happens nearly every round it just gets annoying. I'd like to suggest possibly making this a slayable offense, like radio spamming or gun spamming. Let me know what you guys think.
