Slaying deliberately whilst being the chosen tank or Mike Myers on MMD has been an issue I've seen since the special days were formed. Just a reminder to all that PayAdmins and HeLL members can change the tank or Mike Myers in the admin menu so that it randomises to someone else, either that or we kick so that a new one is chosen. Slaying just because you don't want to be the tank etc. is very selfish and ruins the fun for others. Special days can only be chosen once per map as you all know, and to actually be the tank or Mike Myers is very rare, so to slay like this is also insulting to the others who have never been chosen, or rarely are. I have banned people for 30 minutes beforehand, and I was just wondering what the correct procedure is as I can't find a rule for it. Personally I don't think we should warn the person if they do slay purposely, because once they have slayed they have already ruined it for that map. Thanks
Banning him isn't the correct thing. It ruins the fun , yes. But it's not against rules. What if the player don't know if slaying will ruin it and not choose another one? Maybe we should warn before the tank is chosen to not slay , but just ask the admin to restart. Finally, it's developed the way it's. If he slayeed , it's same as not knowing what to do. It's not against the rules.
So you don't class this as trolling? One excuse I've heard is 'I'm eating so don't want to be tank', another is 'I'm bored and want the map to end', one more was 'if I'm Mike I'm gonna slay'. How is this fair to others?
Why don't we just ban everyone, then there would be no problem too solve --- Double Post Merged, Apr 10, 2018, Original Post Date: Apr 10, 2018 --- Maybe we should add an option for when someone gets picked as Tanks and MMD that they have the option to re-pick someone else. This should only be allowed once per map for only 1 player only or else it would be abused and spammed.
Usually when I do SD and if a person gets picked, he asks if someone else can be picked. I just restart the game and it is all good. But I can agree on that we should find a solution that benefits both sides. People who don't want to participate can ask for a redo of SD instead of ruining the SD by slaying or trolling.
It’s ruining the gaming atmosphere which is definitely not okay. We cannot really put a rule against it because there are so many variables into which why someone would slay. They D.C., loose connection, accidental, etc. I think this is something definitely down to the intent. Accidental, no harm intended, on purpose then they should be dealt with. 30 minutes is reasonable. It proves a point that we don’t condem this behaviour and is not so long to draw the player away. If the same player has not learned their lesson then a day or 2 depending on their attitude is suitable
Mike Myers automatically picks a new person if they disconnect. Not sure about tank though, I presume the same. So D.Cing shouldn't be an issue.
So it ruins the fun if you ban him? If a person slays to ruin a special day, doesnt it ruin the ENTIRE atmosphere and fun? I think it does, and that surely counts as trolling, if you dont want to be something just disconnect and reconnect, if youre eating do the same, if youre doing it on purpose which is probably 90% of the cases of that happening you should be kicked/slayed next round for trolling. A ban is too much, but sometimes as the case with many a ban is necessary for people to stop being trolls.
Totally agree with @GeorgeLAD and @PsyDaniel and I think thats a good punishment to ctb the person for 30 min, it's not too much, only the time of one map
There's another variation on this which is arguably just as bad, when a T kills the tank knowing they are afk. Instead of letting admins reset the day and choose another tank they go right in with the headshots to eliminate the afk tank as quickly as possible. This could be considered trolling as well and arguably should carry the same punishment..
Trolling? Nah just unlucky... this isn’t going to happen so often for a punishment I wouldn’t like to see anyone get punished for this
It happens more often than a tank slaying, and has exactly the same premise and outcome as what the OP is talking about. They know that killing the tank will end the day immediately and ruin it for everyone, and despite often knowing that an admin can easily reset it they do it anyway. Both this and what the OP is talking about are the same problem. P.s. I think you might have misunderstood my post, I'm talking about punishing the player that insta-kills the afk tank, not the tank that happens to be an afk player (which is not their fault).
Nope I didn’t misunderstand it. I wouldn’t like someone to be punished because they killed an AFK tank. It’s just unlucky that it has chosen an AFK player. Through my 6 or so years, this hasn’t happened anywhere near as much as tanks being chosen properly - that’s a false statement.
